We write this with a heavy heart as over 200 girls, our daughters and sisters, are missing from their homes in Chibok, Borno State. We request that you do all within your power as representatives of the good people of Nigeria to ensure that every resource available to the Nigerian government is deployed to bring our girls back,” the petition readThe petition also called on members of the Senate Committee on Defence and Army to ensure that our soldiers on the battle front have all the resources they need to rescue the missing pupils. It also asked the senators to urge the Nigerian military to give a daily briefing on the progress of the rescue operations.
They said, “We note with concern the lapses in information and communication with the Nigerian public and request that you develop a reliable channel of communication with members of your constituencies.”The petition, according to reports, was signed by the Deputy Senior Pastor, Daystar Christian Centre, Lagos, Nike Adeyemi; Pastor Funke Felix-Adejumo of the Agape Christian Ministries, Inc. Akure; Pastor Ifeanyi Adefarasin, co-pastor, House On The Rock, Lagos; Pastor Omowunmi Idowu of Harvesters International Christian Centre; and a lawyer, Bisi Adebayo.
